For el Dario, music has always been the answer. Even when there was no question involved, it was something that always made sense and something that always felt right. Whether it was rock, hip hop or a gypsy guy with a squeeze-box accordion, there was always a relevant feeling inside that just simply made him feel good. This has stemmed down through various genres and styles until something extra special came along in 2004, and it was a sound he connected with on an entirely different level. A friend handed him a Umek and a Marko Nastic mix, and it was love at first kick. It was something that sounded so simple, yet it took you places you didnât know existed. This sound was one that Dario knew would stick, so 2005 saw him acquire a simple Pioneer setup, and a new hobby.
The next few years were spent mixing in bliss, fine-tuning skills and filtering through genres and sub-genres. From deep and funky house, through tech and minimal, to progressive and techno, whether it was in a bedroom alone or a gathering with friends, when behind the decks everything made sense and nothing else mattered. Visits to a couple EXIT festivals in the mean time painted a much more vivid picture of the scene, and this was definitely the type of lifestyle he wanted to be involved with. So in 2009 a friend suggested Dario take his skills further and enter the Habitat DJ competition, which shortly after led to his first Habitat gig, and opened the door for el Dario to showcase his style for all to see.
Forever evolving, his style is based around the intent to make you feel what he feels, and before you even realize this, your feet should already be moving. Since his first club gig back in late 2009, el Dario has supported the likes of Butch, Joris Voorn, Jody Wisternoff, Luke Fair, Oliver $, Edu Imbernon and Marco Resmann to name a few, and was voted the Best House DJ at 2012 Pert Dance Music Awards.
